Your First Capture

Start the proxy

Press ⌘R (or the Start/Stop button in the toolbar) to start capturing. TonyProxy listens on 127.0.0.1:9090 by default (configurable in Settings) and, once the helper daemon is approved, sets itself as the system proxy automatically.

Capture traffic from this Mac

Once started, any app on your Mac that respects the system proxy setting (most do) will route through TonyProxy immediately — no extra config needed. Requests appear in the transaction table as they happen.

Capture traffic from another device

  1. Click the Connect Device button (QR icon) in the toolbar.
  2. Scan the QR code with the other device’s camera, or open the shown URL directly on that device.
  3. That installs TonyProxy’s CA certificate and, for iOS, opens Settings to the trust toggle — see HTTPS Certificate Setup for the trust step.
  4. Set that device’s Wi-Fi proxy to this Mac’s LAN IP and the port shown in TonyProxy (9090 by default).

Read your first transaction

Click any row in the transaction table to open the detail panel. The Request and Response tabs show headers, body, cookies, and raw wire format. See Request Inspector details in Features.
